Our past students have really enjoyed our class and they go back with a full understanding of MFE/MFL.

• This will include Classroom, Shop, and Tank time on two tanks.
• Twenty quizzes, A Final exam, and a practical test on two 25-foot tanks.
• The class is based on API 653 ANNEX G.
• We provide breakfast and lunch for all five days.
• On Friday we take everyone out to Saltlick BBQ for the family-style all-you-can-eat BBQ. Take a look at that BBQ Pic!

We limit the class to 12 students. We cover the General Theory of MFL/MFE.

• Certification is based on the ASNT recommended practice of SNT-TC-1A and Specific Codes of API 653 Annex G.
• 16 to 20 Quizzes
• Final Exam
• Practical Exam on two 25-foot Tanks. (Pass/Fail)

We break the class up into three Modules.

1. Classroom: Introduction, History, and Overview, Theory, Inspection Limitations, Practical Applications, Best Practices, Safety, Principal of Magnetism, Magnetic Fields, Permeability, and Reluctance, Magnetic Saturation, Flux Leakage, Liftoff. Coils vs Hall Effect Sensors, False Calls, Missed Defects. Common Defects, Origins, and Categories, Laminations.
2. Shop: Loading, Unloading, Set up, Function Test, Troubleshooting, Limitations, Best Practices, Different Techniques, Complete Teardown, Recognizing, Locating and Describing Key Components of Unit, Shipping of Unit, Airline Safety, Cleaning requirements,
3. Field: Proper use of equipment, Proper Set up and Tear Down, Measuring and Drawing of Tanks, Locating Defects, Missed Defects, False Calls, Cleaning Requirements, and a practical exam on two 25-foot tanks.
